The Heart of a Girl The Haven Series Book 2 eBook Kaitlyn Oruska
Don't get me wrong, I really loved the first book in this series, Consequences of Forever, but this one was even better. It had more direction, clarity, and emotion. More action and more surprises, too! I really found myself invested in the characters. They feel like my friends. I ached when they hurt, and laughed at things they said or did.I don't want to give away any spoilers, but let me just say, there are some heartbreaks in this book. Ones I sort of saw coming and ones that blind-sided me.
I love how kind Lainey is, even when things are at their worst. She has a wonderful heart, and this world would be a better place if more people were like her. That doesn't mean I wasn't yelling at her a time or two while reading this, wondering what in the world she thought she was doing.
Adam . . . I can't say I'm not still rooting for him, even though I got angry with him.
And I just think every little girl needs an Otto. Myself included.
I thought this book was well written and I congratulate Kaitlyn Oruska on another great novel. I can't wait to read the third installment.
Lines in this book that I thought were cool:
It was like a piece of my heart had left my body and grown a new body all its own.
Somehow missing someone who hadn't actually gone anywhere felt so much worse than missing someone on the opposite side of the country.
I didn't know why I hadn't added this to my list of things to worry about sooner.
My mom probably dressed me up as a brussel sprout or something.
"He's twelve. He doesn't do anything but act creepy."
"Jeez, with the way you two are acting, you'd think I left ten years and vowed never to return."
"You kind of did," Adam pointed out. "I think your last words were, `I'm going to California and never coming back to this shit hole.'"
We stepped in and there was no blood. A good sign.
"Get me to an empty room before someone discovers what I've found!"

The Heart of a Girl The Haven Series Book 2 eBook Kaitlyn Oruska Reviews
Big thanks to Kaitlyn for my copy for review.
Oh my heart... I feel very emotional after reading this book. So many things happened to these characters, and one character in particular left me with tears streaming down my face.
The main characters Lainey and Adam are now the parents of adorable baby Harper, and are engaged to be married. But problems arise for the young couple causing quite a drift between the two. Every couple is not perfect and they have their issues, especially being as young as Adam and Lainey are, and I thought Kaitlyn did a great job of portraying that. Though I have say Adam really pissed me off with the things that he did, and his secret he was keeping from her... Yeah he kind went on my crap list.
During Lainey's struggle of heartbreak she finds comfort and a close friendship with Nolan. Oh my gosh, Nolan. I seriously can't talk about this character without tears coming to my eyes. He was my absolute favorite, so kind, funny, generous, with a very good heart. By the mid end of the book I was very devastated at what happens with him. *wipes tears from my face* I really wanted a Hannah and Nolan story!
Lainey's brother Mason was fantastic, and he was everything you would want in a brother. Besides my awful heartbreak, it has a good ending.
I fell in love with this book. Would definitely recommend it to anybody who loves this author and kind of book.
great series
the only reason I'm giving it less stars than it deserves is because of the writing errors. there wasn't a lot but there was definitely enough for you to notice. But... this series is still amazing. I didn't want to put them down. I would definitely recommend these books.
I have been overlooking the editing in this book throughout the whole thing. Now, I'm on chapter 25, THE most important chapter so far, and I have THREE chapter 25s and then it skips to chapter 28. I hope this is only a glitch with my copy, but I've deleted it and downloaded it twice and it hasn't fixed the problem.
Nobody else had this problem?
I'm happy to remove this review if there's someway to fix this. The editing as far as wrong words and left out words are still going to be a problem, but at least I'm not missing a huge chunk of the story.
Totally expected some of the things to happen but Nolan really I wasn't expecting that at all. I am so happy I gave this series a chance because it is amazing.
