The Catalyst A Prelude to Book Two in the Balancer Chronicles eBook Chris Adonn
Well, I bought this thinking it was book two in the Balancer's series, but it was only a short prelude to the next book. I absolutely loved the first book Legacy the balancer chronicles and wanted to read book 2 immediately. Read Legacy for sure. It was well written and moved quickly. A really different story that reminds me of the Twilight series as I couldn't put it down.Product details

The Catalyst A Prelude to Book Two in the Balancer Chronicles eBook Chris Adonn Reviews
The Catalyst is a novella which is a prelude to the second novel in a series. When I first started to read this prelude, I thought I was not going to be able to continue as too much was referenced about the previous first novel in the series and I felt that I was coming into the middle of a story with no explanation to help me understand what was going on before. But the characters and plot that I could understand were intriguing, so I stuck with it, and I'm glad I did. I was completely drawn into this world, and I want to know more about it. The descriptions of the characters' thoughts and feelings were very realistic, and the premise of The Balancers and what they do is very interesting. I am planning on reading the first teaser and novel, and I will anxiously await the third one as well, and I hope that they fulfill the promise of a unique story line with well-developed characters that this novella depicts.
I believe this is a prelude to the second book in the series The Balancer Chronicles, which made me hesitant to start the book without reading the previous books. I was even more discouraged when the book started referencing things from the previous books.
Eventually though I got intrigued into what was going on with the characters and stuck through until the end of the book. If I was recommending this book to anyone, I would suggest they start with the other books before The Catalyst just so that you can get the most out of the book. Eventually I do plan on reading the other books in the series, and then re-reading this book to complete the story line for myself.
The book is well written with much description on the settings, the characters and the emotions and feelings everyone experienced. There use of descriptive words were perfect and matched perfectly to what Adonn was trying to portray. There was enough humor and sarcasm to keep the reader intrigued and entertained.
The book did end with what seems like an open ending, giving the author the opportunity to continue the series onto new books. Overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone interested in dramas and mystery's. I'd rate it at a 5/5! Thanks Chris Adonn.
I really love the balancer series. This is a well written book but I would have liked for it to have been longer. Good read but not as good as the 1st book in the series.
After reading Legacy I could not wait to get started on this novella. Catalyst gave some back story as well as great teasers of what's to come. I cannot get my hands on it fast enough. I'm excited to see where Raife will go from here, I hope it's somewhere with Kat )
I thoroughly enjoyed all of the books in the series so far. I've read them out of order (Legacy, The Catalyst, then the Eyes That See) but this is a good teaser on it's own. Love the characters and how they develop. Looking forward to book 2.
To begin with, I want to give the writer credit for writing preludes before every book of "The Balancer Chronicles". I've read both of the two preludes. The first one was an informative introduction to "Legacy", while this one, "The Catalyst", was the little something I needed to ease my anticipation for the second book of The Chronicles.
I really like the writing style of this author - a blend of eloquent language and refined humour. But what I like most, and Chris Adonn didn't fail to offer me once more, is the way she gives life to each one of her characters. I can literally "see" what I read.
And I can't wait to see what's next!
Another wonderful read from Chris Adonn. The characters are as endearing as ever and the storyline contains some exciting new elements. I truly hope that Chris continues this series at some point. I would love to get to know these characters and this world even better!
